Kim Love has been involved with business for most of her life as her parents have been in business for nearly as long as she can remember. This probably influenced Kim to start her first business at age 10… a ride-on lawn-mowing business at the beach. Her Dad paid for the gas and the machine itself while she got to keep all the proceeds. Business has never been so easy or profitable! A decade later, again with help and support from her family, Kim ventured into her second enterprise. This business was a service (hairdressing) and retail store based at Auckland Airport. Kim spent the majority of her twenties at the airport and totally immersed in this business, however, curiosity about the ‘outside world’ and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge led Kim to start some university learning in 2000. Since then, Kim has started and been involved in another two businesses (contracting in the tertiary education sector and carrying out small business consulting) while studying towards her university qualifications and holding down a multitude of part-time and contract jobs. Kim joined Auckland from Massey University where she was involved with the teaching and administration of many of the core papers in the Bachelor of Business Degree (Management, Communication, Marketing, HR, EEO and MD, and Intercultural Communication).
