Chye-Ching has interdisciplinary research interests in areas including: tax, corporate law and governance, Law and Economics, public law, and fiscal and economic policy.
Previously, as a Fulbright and Sir Wallace Rowling Memorial Scholar, Chye-Ching worked in Washington DC as a Research Fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, where she had responsibility for the Center’s federal tax policy program. In that role she advised Capitol Hill policymakers on US federal tax and economic policy issues (including issues arising from the 2008 Congressional and Presidential elections, the US$787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and the President’s 2010 budget).
Chye-Ching has practiced as a tax solicitor at Chapman Tripp. As a Research Associate at the New Zealand Institute, a privately funded, non-partisan think tank, she researched and developed recommendations on a variety of economic, social, and environmental policy issues.
